Spending time with Sandy on Maui.

Thanks to some good friends back in Loon Lake we spent their Christmas gift to us with a very nice breakfast.

The view was beautiful and watching whales was a special treat.

With such open walls it was very entertaining to have birds as quest with your special meal.
A very nice hotel with its own beach.

I showed Sandy my favorite spot for snorkeling.

The coral in this location comes from a lava flow.

The Lava Fields are very interesting to see.
Large rocks and crevasses left by the 1970 Lava

You cannot leave Maui without a Sunset dinner Cruse.
Can you see the spray of a whale in the distance?

Sandy really enjoyed the Hawaiian Church with the Sunday school girls doing their dance to Hawaiian Christian choruses.

We live in such a beautiful world. This truly reflects a beautiful God who happens to be our creator.

Sandy and I a Great Time

It was really great to have Sandy come for two weeks. That's why I haven't written for awhile. She was a pleasant distraction from my Blog stories.
I still had my night duties to keep up but we spent as much time as possible to vacation and to take in the sights.

Lahania was one of the first places to see. The oldest city on the island with the largest tree.

The town had shops and galleries that kept you interested for a whole day. We would travel by bus because it was so much cheaper. Two dollars would give you a days pass and you could get on and off the bus as often as you wish that day. It covered a lot of the island's main tourist traps.

We also rented a car to drive the Hana road which is known for its curves and over 50 bridges in a 30 mile stretch.

The thirty miles took over two hours with a lunch break and 1 and a half hours without stopping on the way back. The road is truly a challenge with one way bridges waiting for on coming traffic and scenery around each corner that you wish you could stop and take a picture.

We did stop at Hana's black sand beach. The beach was truly made up of black small stones and covered the whole beach. Seeing that it was on the north shore the waves were bigger and the the shore line more rugged. It was very beautiful.

Sandy was content to sit a watch the waves but not me. I had to try to boggy these waves. Some time the waves were so large Sandy would loose sight of me. Of course I loved the challenge.

Others knew how to have fun on these shores too. We stopped and watched to surfers.

Sandy was intrigued with the bamboo tree and how it grew.

We also took in the Aquarium and learned a lot about coral and tropical fish.

The sunsets were exceptional with Sandy there to enjoy them with me.

Another night on duty so I'll continue tomorrow.
